In the first of our series thinking about our school value of respect, we think about what this word means. We relate this to our 3 School Rules - one of which is Be Respectful. What does this look like in school? How can we show respect to others in school? And how can we show respect to ourselves too?

This was a good reminder to treat others as we would like to be treated. We agree with the concept of earning respect through our words and actions. We should give respect without expecting it back in some cases. For example Falcon and Captain America were close friends who were very respectful and this was shown when the mantle was passed on as a sign of respect to Falcon.

Indeed 6W, Falcon and the Captain were great friends and they had to earn each others' respect. Carrying on with one of those characters, Falcon and the Winter Soldier were at one point enemies but whilst not necessarily friends, they have learned to respect each other and work together for the good of others.
This is exactly what Christ calls us to do, show respect and be respectful, to put aside any differences we have and work together for good!
