Wow! What a busy term Year 6 have had. They have been busy preparing for the SAT’s in May. However, they did manage a trip to the Harris Museum where the children looked at Egyptian art and artefacts for their topic “Walk like and Egyptian.” During this topic, the children researched Egyptian Gods. There are so many! Also they learnt about the Egyptian’s belief in the After Life. In the final week of March, the children participated in Easter Pause Day where the children reflected upon this special Christian celebration through art, drama and tasting food.
During this half term, the children are focussing upon the topic of Abracadabra. This has a focus of Science. The children will get to find out about solids, liquids and gases. Already, the children have participated in Science day which has allowed the children to have a taster of what this exciting topic has to offer.
In our Literacy topic, the children are studying Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The aim is to write an alternative chapter for this book.
Overall, this is a magical topic full of spells and potions. We are looking forward to delving more into this magical world.
