The BIP team has changed their name to the Pupil Support Team. We are a team of three mentors employed by school to work with children who may need some extra support for a variety of reasons, which may include poor attendance, victims of bullying, friendship difficulties or anger management issues.
Children who have been identified as having the need for support are taken out of class with a mentor once a week for about 40 minutes. we usually base our work around art and craft ctivities, but children mat also take part in baking, playing games, relaxation and deep breathing techniques. Our aim is to help children becme calm, confident and self assured so that they no longer need our support.
The Pupil Support Team is also available to offer suport to partents and carers. You can make an appointment to see a mentor and Friday afternoon at our parent drop-in sessions, which are held upstairs in the butterfly room (other times available on request). Ask at the office or phone school if you would like to see one of us. Your child does not need to be receiving support for you to do this.
